Too Lazy to wait 5 minutes to collect payment of import duty resulting in not being able to hand over my package


In brief, on the first delivery date, no one from Fedex turned up despite the delivery estimate being before 12pm on a Monday. I had to re-arrange work to be at home for the whole day.

Secondly when I arranged to meet them for a second time (again needing to be home for 4pm), I needed to pay for the import duty. I wasn't aware that I had to pay on the spot of delivery. I was expecting an invoice from customs.

I then offered to go to the cashpoint/ATM to withdraw the money in order to pay the tax. However this would apparently have taken too long (2minute walk away) as they needed to deliver goods elsewhere. So they couldn't afford 5 minutes of flexibility considering I had already spent one day at home.

I now have arranged a delivery for the 3rd time - hopefully I will receive the package, although over the phone they couldn't "guarantee" that it would arrive in the given time period....
