Fedex denies damage claim - ground delivery


I've been a customer with FedEx for several years. I recently mailed a computer to a customer. The computer's exterior was badly damaged. All 4 handles were badly bent. I put in a insurance claim and found that the claim was denied. I talked to a Kim McKnight in claims. I have NEVER dealt with someone in any company that was as rude as she was. She continually talked over me, interrupting me numerous times, and did not let me finish several points. I assume this is not how FedEx trains it's staff. She stated that I must get a "repair cost" for a computer that cannot be repaired (and I assume I have to pay for the estimate!!!). The exterior of the computer is made of stainless steel metal, and the metal handles of the computer cannot be bent back into place. She did not understand this. I have never had a shipping company, be it UPS, USPS, or FedEx ever ask me for a repair cost for a computer that cost only $265. FedEx also stated to me the reimbursement amount is $365, which if anyone read my claim, would easily figure out that I'm requesting $265. Then the person who originally denied the claim, talked to me about the damaged computer, then APPROVED the claim, only to call me back minutes later to say she could not approve the claim due to it "being sent to management and I can't override management." She stated management would call me, and guess what, no call from management and every time I call Fedex to talk to "management", they are busy. Ugh.
